In April 2008 the city council of Hamburg granted the permission for the "Opera Offfices" project to DIC - Deutsche Immobilien Chancen. The Opera Office project will activate a city center area between the Colonnaden and the Dammtorstraße, which does not exist in the view of the public so far. The former area of the Oberschulbehörde (public education office) at the Dammtorstraße is part of the Primo Portfolio that was acquired by DIC Asset AG from the city of Hamburg in 2006.

DIC will carefully transform the landmarked buildings at the Dammtorstraße into modern offices and retail locations. The "Große Theaterstraße" we will rebuild with a uniform facade by the construction of new and attractive offices. The existing buildings will be replaced by a modern new building with offices and retail locations until 2010.

With these development efforts the central area between Colonnaden and Dammtorstraße will transform into a high quality office environment. It will be located in a very quite area while still being in the city center of Hamburg. The project will move forward the image change of this area, while it will also participate from the same.
